The Hotlanta Softball League is an active member of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance, a governing body that determines the rules and standards for fair play in our league.

The league features two divisions of play. The Women's division is restricted to only women while the Open division is predominately men but teams are allowed to have women players. The Women's Division features three classes of play (Competitive, Alternative, and Recreational) while the Open Division features four (A, B, C, and D).

The league was started in 1981 and is now the second largest member of NAGAAA with 23 Women's Division teams and 22 Open Division teams.

The Spring League begins at the end of March and finishes at the end of June with winners advancing to the NAGAAA World Series in August.

The Fall League is more relaxed with fewer rules and restrictions, starting at the end of Sept. and finishing in early Nov. The Fall League is about half the size of the Spring League and is designed to be "for the fun of it".
